Surfe, a fast-growing French SaaS company, wanted something simple: get the whole distributed team in the same (virtual) room and do something fun together. Their CEO suggested cooking. Office manager Katarina found ChefPassport, loved the menu and how fast we responded, and booked a 90-minute live Greek-French Fusion class with Chef Kit for 19 people.
The Challenge
Surfe's small team is spread across countries. They'd recently rebranded, growth was happening fast, and the usual Friday Zoom calls weren't cutting it anymore. The CEO floated the idea of 'doing something fun together, like cooking' in a team meeting. Katarina was tasked with finding an organiser. What mattered most: the whole team feeling included, no one left behind, and zero admin headaches.
The Solution
We ran a 90-minute live virtual cooking class centred on French Delight — think delicate crêpes, French techniques, and a hint of Mediterranean flair. Chef Kit hosted all 19 participants from their home kitchens. Ingredient kits were shipped in advance. The session was hands-on: Kit walked everyone through each step — whisking batter, getting the pan temperature right, the satisfying flip. There were laughs when crêpes stuck, cheers when they didn't. Kit kept the energy warm and made space for questions, stories, and the occasional kitchen mishap. By the end, everyone had made their own crêpes and shared a meal together on camera.
The Outcome
The team loved it. Several sent unprompted thank-you notes afterward. Katarina told us the event delivered exactly what she'd hoped for: everyone felt included, the vibe was relaxed and joyful, and people who rarely spoke in meetings were suddenly swapping tips on flipping technique. Surfe now wants to run more virtual events. Real quote from Katarina: 'Your quick response and seamless organization convinced me not to look elsewhere. The menu was amazing and everything was well-presented. The team loved the event and everyone felt included — that's what matters the most!'
