Why J.P. Morgan MPS chose a culinary team event
J.P. Morgan MPS—the mobility payments solutions business that was formerly Volkswagen Financial Services' payments unit—was looking for a team experience that would bring colleagues together in a way that felt different from the usual meeting-room format. With a group of 40 and colleagues travelling from outside Luxembourg, the organisers wanted something interactive, memorable and easy to coordinate.
ChefPassport worked with Guillaume Gayot and Magdalena Zietkiewicz to design an event that would suit the size of the group, honour Luxembourg's culinary identity, and create space for genuine connection without adding complexity to the organising process.
What ChefPassport created: Delights of Luxembourg
The session centred on the Delights of Luxembourg menu—a celebration of local culinary tradition translated into shareable finger food. Participants prepared appetisers and small bites that showcased Luxembourg ingredients and techniques, working in pairs and small teams throughout the class.
Alongside the food, the experience included virgin cocktail-making, adding a creative, sensory dimension to the afternoon. The chef team guided participants through each stage—from prep and assembly to plating and tasting—while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and social.
ChefPassport managed the full event flow: venue coordination, ingredient sourcing and portioning, chef facilitation, branded aprons, and post-event follow-up. The organisers could focus on their colleagues; we took care of everything else.
What happened during the class
Forty people gathered around prep stations, knives in hand, working through recipes that required focus, coordination and a bit of banter. Some participants had cooked together before; many had not. The Luxembourg theme gave everyone a shared brief—prepare something delicious, rooted in place—and the small-group format encouraged collaboration.
There was laughter, tasting, the occasional flourish of plating creativity, and the satisfaction of sitting down together to enjoy what the group had made. Colleagues who had travelled to Luxembourg for the event had the chance to experience local flavours while connecting with teammates in a setting that felt informal, human and genuinely shared.
Why this format works for corporate teams
Cooking together strips away the usual workplace hierarchy. Everyone starts with the same ingredients, the same instructions, and the same goal: make something worth eating. It's a format that encourages conversation, rewards cooperation, and creates a sense of accomplishment that's both individual and collective.
For large groups—especially those that include remote or visiting colleagues—an in-person cooking class offers a structured but flexible way to spend time together. There's a clear arc to the experience (prepare, cook, eat), but within that arc there's plenty of room for spontaneity, humour and genuine interaction.
ChefPassport has hosted hundreds of corporate cooking events in Luxembourg, and we know what makes them work: clear instructions, quality ingredients, experienced chefs who can read a room, and logistics that don't require the organiser to become a project manager. Guillaume Gayot and his team at J.P. Morgan MPS experienced that ease firsthand, and the feedback from participants reflected it.
If your team is looking for a corporate cooking class in Luxembourg that brings colleagues together over real food, real conversation and a shared sense of place, ChefPassport will handle the details so you can focus on your people.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can participate in an in-person Luxembourg cooking class?
ChefPassport regularly hosts corporate cooking classes in Luxembourg for groups ranging from 10 to 50+ participants. The J.P. Morgan MPS event accommodated 40 colleagues comfortably, with each participant actively involved in preparing the menu. We adapt the format, kitchen space and chef support to suit your group size.
What does the organiser need to do on the day?
Very little. ChefPassport handles venue coordination, ingredient preparation, chef facilitation, aprons, equipment and event flow. Your role is to show up with your team. We take care of the rest—from setup to cleanup—so you can participate in the experience alongside your colleagues.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements for a large group?
Yes. We work with you in advance to understand any allergies, intolerances or dietary preferences within your group, and we adjust ingredients and recipes accordingly. The Delights of Luxembourg menu can be adapted to suit vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs without compromising the experience.
Why choose a Luxembourg-themed menu for a corporate team event?
A Luxembourg menu offers visiting and local colleagues a shared culinary experience rooted in place. It's an opportunity to explore local ingredients and traditions in a hands-on, approachable way—and it gives the event a sense of identity and purpose beyond 'just' team-building. The Delights of Luxembourg format works particularly well for groups that include international or cross-border teams.
